WIX ALTERNATIVE

The Wix alternative built for what happens after launch

Wix gets a site live fast, and that is a real virtue. The question is what you do on year two — when the leads need a home, the follow-up needs to send itself, and one site has become four. Aglyn puts the canvas, the customer records, the automations, the email and the store in one console, on one plan.

One plan, many sites

Wix bills a plan per site. An Aglyn plan carries 3 sites on Pro, 10 on Business, 25 on Advanced and 100 on Agency, with the team, CRM and email included rather than priced separately.

The business, not just the page

Contacts, workflows, audiences, bookings and a store are part of the platform, sharing one consent record. Wix covers much of this through its own app market, plan by plan and app by app.

You can leave

Aglyn is Apache-2.0 and runs on your own infrastructure from the repository's Docker Compose setup. A Wix site cannot be exported and rehosted; the site and the platform are the same thing.

Where Wix ends and Aglyn begins

Wix gets a first site live faster than almost anything, and for one site with one editor it is inexpensive. The plans, at yearly pricing published September 2026: Light $17.77/mo, Core $29.77/mo, Business $39.77/mo and Business Elite $159.77/mo, carrying 2, 5, 10 and 100 site collaborators respectively, plus a free tier that shows Wix branding.

What changes is the second year. A second site is a second plan. The CRM, the email marketing and the automations arrive as apps, each with its own price, its own settings and its own idea of who your contacts are.

In Aglyn the form writes a contact record in the same console. A workflow can tag it, notify a colleague, add it to an audience or start an email sequence, and the audience it joins carries a recorded consent basis — because the email tool and the consent records are the same system.

Included from Starter ($25/mo): custom domain and SSL, forms, contacts, workflows and automations, data tables, bookings, commerce and digital goods, and your own branding. Business ($139/mo) adds: the REST API, webhooks and multi-language.

Aglyn prices from aglyn.com/pricing. Wix prices as published September 2026. Both change — check current pricing before deciding.

Fees, plainly. Aglyn takes 2% of physical-goods sales on Starter and 0% from Pro up, and 5% of digital goods and memberships on Starter, tapering to 3% on Pro, 2% on Business, 1% on Scale and 0% from Advanced. Payment processing is separate on both platforms and goes to the processor.

What Wix does better

Written honestly, because a comparison page that claims a clean sweep is not worth reading.

  • Time to first site. Wix's onboarding and template library get a non-designer to a finished page faster than anything here, and that is not a small thing.
  • App market breadth. Hundreds of third-party apps cover niches Aglyn has no answer for at all.
  • Maturity and support. Wix has two decades and a 24/7 support organisation behind it. Aglyn entered public beta on 1 September 2026 and does not publish an uptime SLA.
  • Template library. Aglyn has templates; Wix has an order of magnitude more of them.

You can take it with you

Aglyn is licensed under Apache 2.0. The whole platform can be run on your own infrastructure using the Docker Compose setup in the repository and your own Firebase project, and a site's content can be exported from Pro up.

A Wix site cannot be exported and rehosted — there is no equivalent of taking the code and running it somewhere else. That is the difference between renting a platform and being able to run one.

Self-hosting means building from source with the repository's Docker Compose setup. We do not currently publish prebuilt images.

Frequently asked questions

There is no one-click Wix importer, so a rebuild on the canvas is the honest answer. Content held in a Wix CMS collection exports as CSV and can be brought into an Aglyn collection.

For one site with one editor, usually not — Wix Light is $17.77 a month against Starter's $25. It changes once you add sites, seats, or the CRM, email and automation tools you would otherwise buy alongside.

On physical goods, 2% on Starter and 0% from Pro up. On digital goods and memberships, 5% on Starter, tapering to 3% on Pro, 2% on Business, 1% on Scale and 0% from Advanced. Payment processing is separate and goes to the processor.
